Metal glasses process

Metal glasses production process
Metal eyewear is typically made from nickel silver, stainless steel, titanium and titanium alloys, memory alloy, aluminum, and aluminum-magnesium alloy. Nickel silver is the most budget-friendly choice and is widely used in the mid-to-low-end market, while titanium and titanium alloys dominate the high-end market due to their premium quality. Each material has unique strengths and limitations, enabling customers to select the most suitable option based on their design and functional requirements.
Below is the production flowchart for metal eyewear. Typically, metal glasses are made up of ten key parts: metal pad arm, metal frame wire, metal bar, metal bridge, metal end piece, hinge, clamping, metal temple, lens, and temple tip.
Each part goes through its own manufacturing process, which makes producing eyewear more complicated than it seems. Even though glasses are small, the production involves many steps. That’s why, depending on the design and complexity, it usually takes us around 45 to 70 days to complete a metal eyewear frame.

Main Production Process of Metal Eyewear
Metal Frame Wire Processing
Metal frame wire is the first step in metal eyewear manufacturing. We cut metal wire of different sizes based on the frame’s width. Since each design varies, we create custom molds to ensure uniform size and shape. After making the first sample, we verify the frame shape, size, and curvature against the design drawing.

Bridge & End Piece Welding
Place the frame wire and bridge onto the adjusted mold, ensuring the welding points align perfectly. Apply diluted solder paste to the welding area and use silver soldering for 4-6 seconds to create a strong bond. This same process is applied to all other welding points, ensuring consistent quality throughout the frame.
Polishing
Polishing removes impurities and smooths the surface, improving both appearance and comfort. It also enhances durability, ensures better coating adhesion, and helps with quality control by eliminating remaining imperfections.

Plating & Coloring
Cutting and fitting are key steps in the eyewear manufacturing process. First, the lens material is cut into the required shape and size according to the frame specifications. Then, the lenses are securely fitted into the frame, ensuring perfect alignment and stability.
