Injection glasses process

Injection glasses production process
The commonly used materials for injection-molded eyewear frames include cellulose nitrate (CN), cellulose propionate (CP), epoxy resin (EP), nylon (PA), carbon fiber (CF), Grilamid TR90 (TR90), and polycarbonate (PC). Each material offers unique properties, allowing for a variety of designs and functionalities.
Below is the production flowchart for injection eyewear. Typically, Injection-molded eyewear frames consist of four main components: the frame, temples, lenses, and decorative accents.
Each part goes through its own manufacturing process, which makes producing eyewear more complicated than it seems. Even though glasses are small, the production involves many steps. That’s why, depending on the design and complexity, it usually takes us around 40 to 60 days to complete a glasses .

Main Production Process of Injection Eyewear
Material Preparation and Drying
Prepare the required plastic materials, such as polycarbonate (PC) or nylon (PA). The materials are then dried to remove moisture, ensuring that no bubbles or cracks form during the injection molding process.

Injection Molding
Injection Molding and Gate Cutting: The dried plastic material is injected into the molding machine to form the eyewear frame and arms. After molding, the excess gate material is trimmed off.
Inner Circle Cutting and Gate Polishing: The inner rim of the frame is grooved to hold the lenses in place and prevent them from falling out. The gate area is polished to smooth the surface of the frame and arms.
Post-Processing and Surface Treatment
Polishing and Cleaning: The frame and arms are polished to remove surface defects and improve appearance. They are also cleaned to remove any residual impurities from the molding process.
Hinge Installation and Glue Removal: Hinges are attached to the frame and arms, and any excess glue is cleaned off.

Painting and Coating
Spraying: A base coat, gloss, or matte finish is applied to the frame and arms to enhance their aesthetics and durability.
Drying and Curing: The painted frame is baked to fully cure the coating, enhancing adhesion and wear resistance.
Lens Cutting
Lenses are cut to fit the shape and size of the eyewear frame. Precision is critical to ensure the lenses fit perfectly with the frame, providing clear vision and comfortable wear.
